Detroit Red Wings forward Lucas Raymond<\/a> was drawing high praise for his Olympic performance with Sweden. However, all he was feeling was a hopeless emptiness after the Swedes were eliminated from the tournament on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt doesn\u2019t feel good at all,\u201d Raymond told Swedish website Expressen<\/a> following a 2-1 quarterfinal overtime loss to the USA. \u201cWe have many people on this team who have put in a huge amount of time and effort to get us far, and we don\u2019t have that opportunity now.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt just feels empty.\u201d<\/p>\n

Raymond led all Swedish scorers with 2 goals and 7 assists in five games. It was his sweet pass that set up Mika Zibanejad for Sweden\u2019s only goal on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Red Wings Raymond Will Book His Flight Home<\/p>\n

Raymond won\u2019t have to rush back to Detroit now that his Olympic dream has ended.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll give them some time,\u201d Red Wings coach Todd McLellan<\/a> said. \u201cThey\u2019ve adapted now to a different time zone. They need a bit of rest as far as that goes. They haven\u2019t had any time off.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI started reading last year,\u201d Raymond said, according to reporting from Expressen<\/a>. \u201cGot a Kindle. I really like it.\u201d<\/p>\n

He says that books are a big part of the lives of many Red Wings players.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are a lot of people on the team who read now,\u201d Raymond said. \u201cI read all the Harry Potter books last year. It took the whole season.\u201d<\/p>\n

This season, Raymond has upped his reading game to another level.<\/p>\n

\u201cRight now I\u2019m reading The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,\u201d Raymond said. \u201cIt\u2019s a little different.\u201d<\/p>\n

Even though the book\u2019s author is fellow Swede Stieg Larsson, Raymond is opting to read the English version of the novel.<\/p>\n

\u201cYep,\u201d Raymond said. \u201cYou have to expand your vocabulary a bit.\u201d<\/p>\n
