In Detroit, concerns are rising as Simon Edvinsson appears too unwell to participate in an unusual physical drill during Red Wings practice.<\/p>\n

Simon Edvinsson was forced to miss several games before the Olympic break, sidelined with an injury since the January 21st game against the Toronto Maple Leafs.<\/p>\n

When the injury occurred, the Wings didn’t provide many details on his status, except that he would miss the entire stretch of games before the break and was expected to return at some point after the Olympics.<\/p>\n

The six-foot-six defenseman resumed practice, which is a good sign, but concerns are still growing after he couldn’t take part in a drill.<\/p>\n

Simon Edvinsson Makes Headlines At Red Wings Practice<\/p>\n

All NHL teams have been allowed back to practice since yesterday, and it’s safe to say Todd McLellan didn’t waste any time testing the grit of his group.<\/p>\n

He held an unusual drill on the ice that even left veteran journalist Ansar Khan surprised, as he had never witnessed such an exercise.<\/p>\n

On X, Khan posted a video of the drill and noted that Edvinsson didn’t take part in it.<\/p>\n

Considering the physicality of the drill, it’s not surprising to see Edvinsson not participating, especially since the Wings want him back in the lineup as soon as possible.<\/p>\n
