Jack and Quinn Hughes are the sons of Jim and Ellen Hughes, who are both hockey coaches themselves \u2014 Ellen even helped the US Women\u2019s hockey team win gold.<\/p>\n
Jim and Ellen are also parents to son Luke, who plays on the New Jersey Devils alongside Jack. However, unlike his older brothers, Luke did not score a spot in the 2026 Winter Olympics.<\/p>\n

Jack and Quinn Hughes made their olympic debut at the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics<\/a>\u00a0as teammates on the US men\u2019s hockey team.<\/p>\n The brothers are leading the team as one of the top in the tournament this season, already defeating Latvia, Denmark, Germany and Sweden in the quarterfinals<\/a>.<\/p>\n Quinn Hughes<\/p>\n The eldest Hughes brother<\/a> played college hockey at the University of Michigan from 2017 to 2019.<\/p>\n He was drafted seventh overall by the Vancouver Canucks in 2018 and finished out his season at Michigan before joining the NHL.<\/p>\n The defenseman was traded to the Minnesota Wild this past season.<\/p>\n Jack and Quinn, posing at the 2026 Winter Olympics, are playing as teammates for the first time and leading a successful tournament, making it to the semifinals on Wednesday. This year, he returned stronger than ever.<\/p>\n He made the game-winning goal<\/a> against Sweden in the quarterfinals on Wednesday, securing the US men\u2019s team a shot at playing for a medal as they advance to the semifinals.\u00a0<\/p>\n His teammate and brother, Jack, praised Quinn\u2019s performance on the ice after the whirlwind game.<\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019s unreal. That\u2019s a massive goal, massive moment,\u201d Jack gushed. \u201cOne of our best players taking over there and winning that game for us.\u201d<\/p>\n Quinn is currently a defenseman for the Minnesota Wild, while Jack plays forward for the New Jersey Devils. Getty Images<\/p>\n Jack Hughes<\/p>\n The middle Hughes brother was picked first overall in the 2019 NHL Draft and currently plays for the New Jersey Devils.<\/p>\n He is primarily plays forward, but also shifts to the wing at times, like he did during the 4 Nations Face-Off tournament.<\/p>\n Unlike his brothers Quinn and Luke, who both skated for the University of Michigan, Jack did not play college hockey and instead went directly to the NHL.\u00a0<\/p>\n Since he and Quinn play on different teams and play different positions, it is rare they get to share the ice \u2014 which is why playing in the Olympics together this year is so special to Jack. <\/p>\n After their win over Latvia, Jack (seen here with Quinn at the 2024 NHL All-Star red carpet) gushed about him and Quinn being able to \u201cplaying off each other.\u201d Getty Images<\/p>\n Off the rink, Jack made headlines last December for sparking dating rumors with Tate McRae (seen above in Paris in February 2026.)
