Kiefer Sherwood has only played one game for the San Jose Sharks, but he\u2019s already feeling better about his new team.<\/p>\n
After missing time with an upper-body injury, Sherwood skated on a line with Macklin Celebrini<\/a> and Will Smith<\/a> against the Colorado Avalanche. Sherwood told SHD that skating in practice now is the best thing for him to get closer to his new teammates.<\/p>\n \u201cYou get a taste of it. Be back with the fellows finally, and then have to sit on that one for three weeks,\u201d Sherwood said. \u201cI know we were all pissed off after the game, but the break was coming at a good time for us, so we\u2019ll regroup here and be ready to go now.\u201d<\/p>\n Former teammate with the Vancouver Canucks, Vincent Desharnais<\/a>, told reporters when Sherwood was acquired that the new Sharks winger can be a prankster. Sherwood admitted that he\u2019s starting to feel comfortable enough to \u201cget under some skin\u201d when the time is right.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m still getting used to the energy and the fun and the banter and the celebrating and stuff, but I think it\u2019s great. Guys bring a lot of great joy, and they have fun practicing, which is a key part to a good team,\u201d Sherwood said. \u201cI\u2019m just trying to get myself immersed with this group here and get up to speed here with the guys, and just try to join in and have some fun a little bit. Get under some guy\u2019s skin here and there. So I\u2019ll try to ruffle some feathers when the time is right.\u201d<\/p>\n SHD asked Desharnais if the San Jose Sharks winger has played any pranks yet.<\/p>\n \u201cI think he\u2019s going slow. He came in. He was hurt a little bit, and so I think he\u2019s on the slow pace,\u201d Desharnais said with a smile. \u201cBut I could see already, he\u2019s getting more and more comfortable.\u201d<\/p>\n Sherwood told SHD that exploring San Jose during the break has been one of his favorite pastimes. The San Jose Sharks winger shouted out Mendocino Farms and the Westfield Valley Fair Mall as frequent stops for him.<\/p>\n \u201cWith a week here still until the next game or whatever, get to explore the area a little bit. Try to drive around and get to know some of the spots here,\u201d Sherwood said. \u201cWhen you\u2019re on the road, we usually just post up at the hotel. But now, you get to see the greater San Jose area, and it\u2019s cool.
