When the Dallas Stars return from the Olympic break next week, they may have to do so without Mikko Rantanen<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Rantanen, who has been playing with Finland in the Winter Olympics, was hurt in the third period of Friday\u2019s game against Canada<\/a> and was ruled out for Saturday\u2019s bronze medal game against Slovakia with a lower-body injury, according to a report from Elliotte Friedman.<\/p>\n

With the Stars returning to play against the Kraken at home on Wednesday, Rantanen\u2019s status is now in question.<\/p>\n

Rantanen has missed just three games with the Stars this season. He served a one-game suspension issued by the NHL<\/a> earlier this season because of two game misconduct penalties in the physical infractions category. He also missed two games in January with an illness<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Stars acquired Rantanen in a blockbuster trade last March<\/a> and he has quickly become a key piece of their lineup.<\/p>\n

Through 54 games this season, Rantanen has a team-high 69 points (20 goals, 49 assists).<\/p>\n
