(Tegna Imagery)<\/p>\n<p class=\"drop-cap\">Seattle Kraken, the NHL ice hockey franchise, has extended its regional television partnership with US media company\u00a0Tegna, which will continue to provide free-to-air (FTA) coverage of\u00a0games across the Pacific Northwest.<\/p>\n<p>Tegna\u2019s local FTA stations, King 5 and Kong, will retain rights to show Kraken games in four of the largest markets in the region, including Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Alaska.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sportcal.com\/wp-content\/themes\/goodlife-wp-B2B\/assets\/images\/GMS-logo.svg\" alt=\"\"\/> Discover B2B Marketing That Performs <\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\tCombine business intelligence and editorial excellence to reach engaged professionals across 36 leading media platforms.\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.globaldatamarketingsolutions.com\/\" class=\"gms-find-out-more\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tFind out more <\/a><\/p>\n<p>Specifically, fans in Seattle will gain free access to all non-nationally televised Kraken games via Kong and Prime Video, while King 5, an affiliate of national network NBC, will simulcast 20 games.<\/p>\n<p>Outside Seattle, games will be broadcast\u00a0FTA on\u00a0Tegna stations\u00a0KGW, the NBC affiliate in Portland, KREM-KSKN, the CBS affiliate in Spokane, and KTVB in Boise.<\/p>\n<p>Tegna said it is also working with additional broadcast companies to expand FTA access to all available television markets in Washington,\u00a0Oregon,\u00a0and\u00a0Alaska.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the extension, King 5, Tegna, and the Kraken will continue to lead advertising and sponsorship sales for all local games.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Brad Ramsey, senior vice president and head of sports rights at Tegna, said: \u201cWe have done exactly what we set out to do, giving more fans, in more homes, access to more games than ever before.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are more committed than ever to serving local fans with the content they care most about, and our advertising partners with solutions that help them move the needle.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The extension builds on a deal initially signed before the 2024-25 season, which coincided with the launch of the Kraken Hockey Network, which made games widely accessible on Tegna\u2019s partner stations and Prime Video, the streaming service of e-commerce giant Amazon.<\/p>\n<p>Prime Video\u2019s agreement with Kraken sees the platform stream all non-nationally televised games for Prime members in Washington, Oregon, and Alaska, including pre-season, regular season, and the first round of the playoffs.<\/p>\n<p>According to the team, the agreement tripled viewership compared to the previous distribution models, which saw games aired on Root Sports Northwest, a joint venture between MLB\u2019s Seattle Mariners and AT&amp;T Sports Networks, during the Kraken\u2019s first three seasons.<\/p>\n<p>Jeff Webster, chief commercial officer at the Seattle Kraken, added: \u201cSince we launched the Kraken Hockey Network on Tegna and Prime Video, viewership has increased exponentially.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis extended partnership with TEGNA ensures fans throughout our territory will continue to enjoy an exceptional broadcast at no cost, furthering our commitment to making Kraken hockey accessible to all.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>                    <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sportcal.com\/wp-content\/themes\/goodlife-wp-B2B\/assets\/images\/newsletter-new.svg\" alt=\"Email newsletter icon\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\n                    Sign up for our daily news round-up!<br \/>\n                    Give your business an edge with our leading industry insights.\n                <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The extension builds on a deal initially signed before the 2024-25 season.
