SALT LAKE CITY \u2013\u00a0Utah Hockey Club is getting desperately needed reinforcements with Sean Durzi<\/a>\u00a0expected to play on Saturday after missing 52 games. Sweet-shooting youngster Logan Cooley<\/a> was also upgraded to day-to-day. The third-year forward hasn\u2019t played since January 29 against Pittsburgh.<\/p>\n

Utah HC head coach Andre Tourigny relayed the news to the assembled media on Tuesday, February 18.<\/p>\n

Per Tourigny, <\/p>\n

Sean Durzi IS BACK and is expected to play on Saturday against the Kings.<\/p>\n

Logan Cooley is currently day to day and sporting a non-contact jersey at practice.<\/p>\n

Connor Ingram is day to day.<\/p>\n

Jaxson Stauber is not expected to play despite being recalled.#UtahHC<\/a><\/p>\n

Durzi rejoins a club that sits fourth in the Western Conference Wild Card<\/a> (24-23-9) and won three of five before the Four Nations break.<\/p>\n

Utah HC returns to the rink in California against the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday, February 22. The puck drops at 7 p.m. MT.<\/p>\n

About Sean Durzi<\/p>\n

The former Arizona Coyotes player began playing hockey when he was five.<\/p>\n

In 2017, Durzi went to support a friend at the NHL Draft and hoped to hear his name called as well. However, the draft concluded without the defenseman getting selected. Durzi said he used the disappointment to motivate him the following year. He worked on his game and tried to improve on his weaknesses.<\/p>\n

A year later, Durzi\u2019s name was called when his hometown Maple Leafs picked him with the 52nd overall pick during the second round of the 2018 NHL Draft.<\/p>\n

The defenseman played for four seasons in the Ontario Hockey League before making his NHL debut. The Los Angeles Kings acquired Durzi via trade in 2019.<\/p>\n

From 2021-23, Durzi played in 136 games for the Kings. He recorded 12 goals and 53 assists during his time in Los Angeles. The Coyotes traded for Durzi in June 2023. In his lone season with the former Arizona franchise, Durzi scored nine goals and had 32 assists, finishing with a -1 plus\/minus rating.<\/p>\n
