Team Canada forward Brad Marchand’s comments on Sidney Crosby shows that along with his teammates feel they let their longtime leader down.<\/p>\n

However, they were without Sidney Crosby and the absence of Canada’s captain as well as the heart and soul of the entire lineup, and with him facing potentially the last chance to win gold — it was a heartbreaking end to say the least.<\/p>\n

Marchand admits that he’s frustrated Canada couldn’t win for Crosby<\/p>\n

Brad Marchand understood the situation and his post-game comments about Crosby show that not only was the team doing it for their country, but also for Sid the Kid.<\/p>\n

Marchand explained that Canada feels like they let Crosby down and with him one of the greatest ever it was a hard pill to swallow for many of his teammates:<\/p>\n

You feel bad letting a guy like that down. One of the best to ever play. One of the best leaders to ever play the game.<\/p>\n

Wish we could have got it done for him.<\/p>\n

Crosby and Marchand are close friends and it’s nice to hear Marchand take a more humbling approach to his typically mischievous comments and it’s clear that Crosby means more to the team than just being part of the lineup.<\/p>\n

Crosby can still win once more but time is running out<\/p>\n

Whether or not he is going to be around that long is anyone’s guess though Crosby is someone who is known for keeping himself fairly healthy despite early injury concerns in his career.<\/p>\n

So Crosby and even Marchand may not be part of the Olympics come 2030, and it’s a frustrating conclusion if so. But for Crosby — who has won it all, done it all, and seen it all, he’s still got some more time to add to his accomplishments including another Stanley Cup if all things go well this year.<\/p>\n
