The Dallas Stars<\/a> have made a roster decision on injured standout Mikko Rantanen.<\/p>\n

On Monday, the team announced Rantanen would be placed on injured reserve.<\/a> The move is retroactive to Feb. 20. Rantanen sustained a lower-body injury during Finland\u2019s Winter Olympic semifinal matchup with Canada. The lower-body injury led to his absence from Finland\u2019s bronze medal game against Slovakia.<\/a><\/p>\n

Placing Rantanen on IR means the forward would miss at least a week. The move also opens up a roster spot for Lian Bichsel to be activated.<\/a> Bichsel has been out with a lower-body injury since Nov. 30.<\/a><\/p>\n

Stars head coach Glen Gulutzan also spoke to reporters Monday, where he shared updates on other Olympians returning to Dallas\u2019 roster.<\/a> According to Gulutzan, goaltender Jake Oettinger won\u2019t play Wednesday against Seattle due to travel logistics. Casey DeSmith will start in goal.<\/p>\n

Radek Faksa\u2019s playing status is still in the air for the Stars\u2019 first game back from the break. Faksa also sustained an injury while representing Czechia in the Olympic tournament.<\/p>\n

The Stars return to American Airlines Center to face the Seattle Kraken at 7 p.m. Wednesday.<\/p>\n
