Sarah Palin has been by boyfriend Ron Duguay\u2019s hospital bedside as he battles stage 4 cancer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

After Page Six broke the news about the former New York Rangers player\u2019s illness, his daughter Shay Thomas took to Instagram<\/a> to share a reel of the hard journey her father has endured since he was diagnosed. <\/p>\n

In one part of the clip, Palin, 62, could be seen feeding Duguay, 68, a spoonful of food as he lay in a hospital bed with IVs inserted into his arms.<\/p>\n

Duguay and Palin have been dating since early 2022<\/a>, after connecting when the politician reached out to the ex-athlete for advice during her defamation trial against\u00a0The New York Times<\/a>.<\/p>\n

They have since made several public appearances together<\/a>, including at the ninth\u00a0annual Little Steven\u2019s Policeman\u2019s Ball in 2023.<\/p>\n

As Page Six previously reported, Duguay\u2019s daughters, Amber Stavros and Thomas, launched a GoFundMe to raise money to \u201csupport travel expenses, treatments, holistic care, and these new treatment options.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter many conversations as a family, we decided to create this fundraiser for him because we\u2019ve seen firsthand the weight this battle has placed on him, both physically and financially,\u201d they wrote on the fundraising site.<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause of his cancer, he hasn\u2019t been able to work the way he normally would, yet he continues to fight with everything he has.\u201d<\/p>\n

Stavros and Thomas said their father\u2019s cancer numbers have recently \u201cstarted to rise again\u201d and the family is \u201cexploring additional treatment options outside of the United States\u201d in hopes of giving Duguay the \u201cbest possible chance.\u201d<\/p>\n

The family has raised nearly $52,000 on GoFundMe for the former athlete, pictured walking in the hospital.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese treatments are very expensive and add another layer of financial strain during an already difficult time,\u201d they added.<\/p>\n

At the time of this publication, the family has raised nearly $52,000 of their $50,000 goal.<\/p>\n

Duguay told Page Six that he\u2019s been battling cancer for a year. <\/p>\n
