COLUMBUS, Ohio \u2014\u00a0The Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation celebrated the early 2000s on Tuesday, honoring the lasting impact the foundation has brought to the community.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Cannonball, hosted at Nationwide Arena, is the fundraising event which supports the team’s commitment to benefiting the health and wellness of children throughout central Ohio

In conjunction with the anniversary, the foundation announced a new $1.5 million commitment to Nationwide Children’s Hospital

Approximately $500,000 of the donation will go toward the renovation of the Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation Family Resource Center<\/p>\n

The $1 million will establish a fund to support the meaningful moments that help families throughout their care journey which will be called the Heart & Glory fund<\/p>\n

\u201cOver the past 25 years, we have seen firsthand what is possible when you consistently invest in your community,\u201d said Blue Jackets Foundation Executive Director Tara Battiato. \u201cWhat began as a commitment to show up for kids and families in central Ohio has grown into a lasting partnership built on trust,\u00a0impact\u00a0and hope. The lives\u00a0we\u2019ve\u00a0touched and the programs\u00a0we\u2019ve\u00a0helped build alongside our community partners are a powerful reminder that sustained investment\u00a0truly changes\u00a0outcomes for generations.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

In conjunction with the anniversary, the foundation announced a new $1.5 million commitment to Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Approximately $500,000 of the donation will go toward the renovation of the Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation Family Resource Center which provides practical tools, educational materials, comfort items and a quiet place to regroup for families.<\/p>\n

In combination with the $1 million shared at the annual\u00a0Grant Reception<\/a>\u00a0in October 2025, the total investment in the community during the 2025-2026 NHL season is $2.5 million.<\/p>\n
