U.S ice hockey gold medalist Brady Tkachuk condemned an AI video posted by the White House<\/a> this week that depicted him insulting Canadians.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey booed our national anthem, so I had to come out and teach those maple syrup-eating fucks a lesson,\u201d Tkachuk, who is captain of the NHL\u2019s Ottawa Senators, appears to say in the video posted on the White House TikTok account.<\/p>\n

The video<\/a> amassed over 11 million views and racked up comments that also disparaged Canada.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s clearly fake, because it\u2019s not my voice, and not my lips moving,\u201d the real Tkachuk told a gaggle of reporters Thursday ahead of the game against the Detroit Red Wings at the Canadian Tire Centre.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, I\u2019m not in control of any of those accounts and yeah, so I know that those words would never come out of my mouth, so I can\u2019t do anything about it,\u201d he continued. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Asked a follow-up question about whether he \u201cliked\u201d the video, Tkachuk said, \u201cDid I like it? I mean, it\u2019s not my voice, not what I was saying. So, um, yeah, I mean, I would never say that. That\u2019s not who I am. So yeah, I guess I don\u2019t like that video.\u201d <\/p>\n

The White House did not immediately respond to HuffPost when asked for a comment on Tkachuk not liking the video. <\/p>\n

The U.S men\u2019s hockey team, which won gold in the Winter Olympics, has been on thin ice with some fans after celebrating with a beer-chugging<\/a> FBI<\/a> Director Kash Patel <\/a>in the locker room after the team\u2019s win. The team received a call from President Donald Trump<\/a> and joined him in laughing at his degrading joke<\/a> towards the women\u2019s team, which also won gold<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Tkachuk said Thursday that the men\u2019s hockey team \u201csupported\u201d the women\u2019s team. When asked why he laughed at Trump\u2019s joke about inviting the women\u2019s team, he said he didn\u2019t \u201creally have an answer\u201d and called the aftermath of the victory a \u201cwhirlwind\u201d moment.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can\u2019t really control what somebody says and it just, I guess, caught off guard a little bit, but I know you\u2019re talking to the president 10 minutes after you just achieved your dream,\u201d Tkachuk said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s just the fact that you\u2019re talking to him. It\u2019s just you can\u2019t really believe where your life\u2019s at, that you\u2019re talking to the president of the United States after you just won a gold medal.\u201d <\/p>\n

Some online had speculated that Tkachuk was heard shouting \u201cclose the northern border\u201d during the team\u2019s celebration with Patel. He, however, denied saying that. <\/p>\n

He told reporters, \u201cIf you watch the video, that\u2019s not my voice and something that I\u2019d never say.\u201d <\/p>\n

Tkachuk was among the 20 U.S men\u2019s players who visited the White House and dined on McDonald\u2019s<\/a> after the win. The team also attended<\/a> Tuesday\u2019s State of the Union address, where Trump announced goalie Connor Hellebuyck would receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the U.S. government\u2019s highest civilian honor.<\/p>\n
