This proposal sends the Maple Leafs\u2019 Nick Robertson and <a rel=\"nofollow noopener sponsored\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/m\/mcmanbo02.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=nhltradetalk.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-02-27_hr\" target=\"_blank\">Bobby McMann<\/a> to the Seattle Kraken for <a rel=\"nofollow noopener sponsored\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/w\/wrighsh01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=nhltradetalk.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-02-27_hr\" target=\"_blank\">Shane Wright<\/a>. On paper, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yardbarker.com\/nhl\/articles\/maple_leafs_trade_deadline_matchmaker_who_are_the_best_fits_to_pull_off_a_move_with_toronto\/s1_15332_43525493\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">it looks fair enough<\/a>. One side gets help now, the other gets a prospect with upside.<\/p>\n<p>What the Maple Leafs and the Kraken Might Get<\/p>\n<p>The Maple Leafs land Wright \u2014 20 years old, 4th overall back in 2022. He skates really well and has that two-way upside. The thing is, he hasn\u2019t quite clicked in Seattle\u2019s lineup for whatever reason. A new team might unlock him. Toronto\u2019s got to think long-term at centre behind Matthews and Tavares. If Wright turns into what people hoped, he could be a middle-six centre in a couple of seasons and maybe take over from Tavares eventually. That\u2019s the upside that pulls you in.<\/p>\n<p>Seattle gets two wingers who can play right away. Robertson\u2019s never stuck in Toronto, but his game is rounding out. McMann\u2019s 29, fast, having a career-high shooting percentage this year. But that\u2019s probably going to regress. Still, he\u2019s big, fast, and strong.
