The Boston Bruins<\/a> are expected to be aggressive ahead of the March 6 NHL trade deadline.<\/p>\n

Boston is holding onto a playoff spot, and the Bruins could look to improve their blue line and add some more scoring. Ahead of the deadline, Boston has been linked to multiple players, but now, it appears the team could be looking at a blockbuster deal with one team.<\/p>\n

NHL insider Anthony Di Marco of DailyFaceoff reported on Friday that Boston is interested in multiple players on the St. Louis Blues, which could lead to a bigger deal.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe\u00a0St. Louis Blues\u00a0are another team the Bruins have had discussions with,\u201d Di Marco wrote<\/a>. \u201cThe Blues have several notable players on the trade block. The Blues had assistant GM Tim Taylor and vice-president of hockey operations Peter Chiarelli in attendance for the Bruins\u2019 game last night, which doesn\u2019t seem like a coincidence.\u201d<\/p>\n

Di Marco reports that the Bruins are interested in defenseman Colton Parayko and Justin Faulk, as both can be shutdown defenders to bolster the team\u2019s blue line.<\/p>\n

Along with the defenseman, Di Marco adds that the Bruins are also interested in 26-year-old star counterman Robert Thomas, as well as Blues captain Brayden Schenn.<\/p>\n

\u201cThomas, 26, carries an $8.125-million AAV until 2031 and would fit the exact mold the Bruins are looking for. The price for Thomas is astronomical \u2013 GM Doug Armstrong has set heavy prices on all his assets, as he is leveraging the lack of sellers on the market and drawing a hard line in negotiations, according to several sources across the league \u2013 as the lack of top-end available centers continues to be a problem for the entire league.\u201d<\/p>\n

Whether or not the Bruins and Blues end up making a trade is to be seen. But Di Marco believes Boston is looking to be aggressive to bolster their lineup for a playoff push.<\/p>\n

The Bruins are 33-20-5 and holding onto the final Wild Card spot.<\/p>\n
