But as always, ya gotta give something to get something. Yes, they have two first-round picks in 2026 and 2027, as well as both of their second-rounders for those two years. Good assets from which to draw from, for sure.

But they also have a notable prospect who is reportedly squarely on the trade block, in Matthew Poitras. He’s having a tough developmental season in the AHL, but he’s a skilled offensive center with plenty of playmaking talent.

Insider David Pagnotta says he’s heard that the Bruins are definitely willing to move the 21-year-old center, a second-round draft pick in 2022.

Additionally, Court Lalonde echoed this on the Bruins Diehard podcast.

I have it on good authority that Poitras’ name is definitely out there. When teams are talking to the Bruins right now, they are asking about him, and I think the Bruins would 100% move him.

It’s become tough for Poitras to land a role with the Bruins, particularly in the top-six, where he would need to play. While possessing great offensive creativity, he doesn’t have the checking or defensive traits that would be needed in the bottom six.

Poitras played 33 games with Boston in each of the 2023-24 and ’24-’25 seasons, totalling just 26 points in those 66 games. But he’s only gotten into three games in the current season, and his offense has taken a hit at the AHL level this year as he’s worked on his defense, with just 30 points in 47 games.

But hey, he’s still a 21-year-old center with great on-ice vision and good prospect pedigree. Teams around the league will always find room for someone like that in their systems.

His waiver exemption expires after this season, as does his entry-level contract, and he’ll become a restricted free agent. All the more reason that the Bruins are willing to send him out if it helps them gain something that will impact this year’s NHL roster down the stretch.

Photo: © Kim Klement Neitzel-Imagn Images

The Boston Bruins are looking to make some additions to help their playoff push as we approach the…

[3
5,181,4,465,550,106,60,107,549,548,546,547
0":"post-478379","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-nhl","8":"tag-hockey","9":"tag-hockey-news","10":"tag-nhl","11":"tag-nhl-draft","12":"tag-nhl-free-agency","13":"tag-nhl-news","14":"tag-nhl-playoffs","15":"tag-nhl-rumors","16":"tag-nhl-teams","17":"tag-nhl-trade-deadline","18":"tag-nhl-trade-rumors","19":"tag-nhl-trades
["GET
