Team USA<\/a> women\u2019s hockey stars Hilary Knight and Megan Keller made a surprise cameo on \u201cSNL<\/a>\u201d this weekend to clown Donald Trump<\/a> over his degrading joke<\/a> about inviting their squad to the nation\u2019s capital. (Watch the moment below.)<\/p>\n

During the \u201cSaturday Night Live<\/a>\u201d monologue, host and \u201cHeated Rivalry<\/a>\u201d star Connor Storrie shared his doubts that he pulled off his role in the hit HBO Max show after watching athletes on the ice at this year\u2019s Winter Olympics<\/a>.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s when U.S. men\u2019s hockey stars and brothers Quinn and Jack Hughes \u2014 the latter of whom scored the golden, overtime goal<\/a> in the Olympic final over Canada \u2014 crashed Studio 8H. The two noted that they didn\u2019t get around to the actor\u2019s queer hockey romance during their undefeated run in Milan.<\/p>\n

\u201cOh, I hope some hockey players watched it,\u201d Storrie said just before Knight and Keller, the latter of whom secured gold with an overtime goal<\/a> of her own over Canada in her team\u2019s final, walked onto the stage.<\/p>\n

The cameo by the two women\u2019s stars caused the \u201cSNL<\/a>\u201d crowd to erupt in applause for nearly 30 seconds.<\/p>\n

\u201cOh wow, Hilary and Megan, it\u2019s so cool that we\u2019re all here,\u201d Storrie said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was going to be just us, but we thought we\u2019d invite the guys too,\u201d quipped Knight, who described Trump\u2019s joke during his congratulatory phone call with the winning men\u2019s team as \u201cdistasteful and unfortunate<\/a>\u201d earlier in the week.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, we thought we\u2019d give them a little moment to shine,\u201d added Keller while giving Quinn Hughes a playful nudge on the arm.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The men\u2019s team, which faced criticism for laughing in response to Trump\u2019s joke, accepted the president\u2019s invitation to attend his State of the Union address and visit the White House.<\/p>\n

The women\u2019s team turned down<\/a> the president\u2019s grudging invitation to also attend the SOTU address, citing scheduling conflicts. Trump has said the women\u2019s team will be honored with a White House visit \u201csoon<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the days since, some members of the men\u2019s team have expressed<\/a> regret<\/a> over the locker room laughter.<\/p>\n
