{"id":481640,"date":"2026-03-02T22:45:23","date_gmt":"2026-03-02T22:45:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/481640\/"},"modified":"2026-03-02T22:45:23","modified_gmt":"2026-03-02T22:45:23","slug":"silovs-earns-nhl-second-star-of-the-week-after-2-incredible-games-wpxi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/481640\/","title":{"rendered":"Silovs earns NHL Second Star of the week after 2 incredible games \u2013 WPXI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">PITTSBURGH  \u2014 Penguins goalie Artur Silovs had two incredible games over the past week and is being recognized by the NHL for his performances. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Silovs was named the NHL\u2019s Second Star for the week ending March 1. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Arguably, the rookie goaltender\u2019s notable play actually began during the Milan Cortina Winter Games, when he secured Latvia\u2019s first Olympic win since 2014. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Then, in his first two games back in the NHL, Silovs went 2-0. He stopped 51-52 shots for a .981 save percentage and 0.50 goals-against average over two games, and recorded his second shutout of the season. His last shutout was on opening night against the Rangers. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">The Penguins said of all goaltenders with at least two games played over the past week, Silovs leads all major categories. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">But Silovs\u2019 strength was apparent even before the Olympic break.
