Elias Pettersson’s days as a Vancouver Canuck appear numbered.<\/p>\n

The veteran center was recently benched against the Seattle Kraken, and it’s becoming more obvious by the day that a change of scenery is on the horizon.<\/p>\n

The Detroit Red Wings are becoming the heavy favorite at this point, and with the trade history between these two clubs, it appears likely they’ll be able to work together and facilitate a deal before 3pm on Friday.<\/p>\n

Pettersson’s owed $11.6 million AAV through the 2032 season and holds a full no-movement clause. He appears open to joining the Red Wings, from all accounts at least, to this point.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Pettersson’s been very candid with the media recently, admitting he hasn’t lived up to his big contract after several disappointing seasons in a row. So far this year, the 27-year-old center has produced 13 goals and 35 points in 51 games.<\/p>\n

If Detroit doesn’t close the deal this week, expect to see the Los Angeles Kings or Carolina Hurricanes make major last-minute pushes to finalize a deal. It’s the Red Wings leading the charge, but Pettersson is rumored to be open to either LA or Carolina, if it presented itself.<\/p>\n
