STORRS \u2014 For the second\u00a0straight game six different UConn players scored as the\u00a0Huskies overwhelmed Holy Cross 6-1 on Tuesday night at the Toscano Family Ice Forum to advance to the Hockey East women\u2019s championship game.<\/p>\n
The Huskies\u2019 semifinal win was an offensive repeat of a 6-1 quarterfinal win over Maine in which six players scored goals.<\/p>\n
UConn (26-8-2) advances to play at top-seeded Northeastern on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. for the conference championship. Northeastern advanced with a 3-1 win over Vermont.<\/p>\n
Kyla Josifovic opened the scoring for UConn with a power-play goal at 11:15 of the first period. Violet Carroll tied the score for the Crusaders at 18:21 and the opening period ended in a 1-1 tie.<\/p>\n
Julia Pellerin scored what turned out to be the winning goal at 3:49 of the second. The Huskies put the game away in the last two minutes of the period as Megan Woodward (18:11) and Ashley Allard (19:29) increased the lead to 4-1 with a period to play.<\/p>\n
Maya Serdachny and Christina Walker scored the final two goals for UConn, while Tia Chan made 27 saves, including 13 in the final period.<\/p>\n
