The Edmonton Oilers<\/a> lost a pair of players in their 5-4 comeback victory over the Ottawa Senators<\/a> on Tuesday. <\/p>\n

Defenceman Jake Walman<\/a> missed the third period with an undisclosed injury, while Curtis Lazar<\/a> was forced out of the game after just three shifts and 2:25 of ice time with an undisclosed injury.<\/p>\n

Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch told reporters after the game that Walman\u2019s injury is not expected to be too serious, but Lazar is expected to be out of the lineup for \u201cat least a week,\u201d per TSN\u2019s Ryan Rishaug.<\/p>\n

Lazar, 31, has three goals and five points in 39 games this season. Walman has eight goals and 18 points in 33 games.<\/p>\n

The timing of the injuries has the potential to influence the Oilers\u2019 decision-making process ahead of Friday\u2019s trade deadline. Edmonton already made a move to shore up their blue line by acquiring Connor Murphy<\/a> from the Chicago Blackhawks<\/a> on Monday, and, as it was reported on Insider Trading on Tuesday<\/a>, could be looking to acquire a third-line centre such as Nicolas Roy<\/a> or Brayden Schenn<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Oilers are tied with the Utah Mammoth<\/a> in the wild-card standings in the Western Conference after Edmonton\u2019s victory on Tuesday. Both teams sit six points clear of the San Jose Sharks<\/a>, Los Angeles Kings<\/a> and Nashville Predators<\/a>.<\/p>\n
