Or look at something else,&#8221; LeBrun wrote on X.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">As good a haul by the Flames for MacKenzie Weegar as it was, two things can both be true at once, it didn\u2019t put a dent in Utah\u2019s very top assets. The Mammoth didn\u2019t trade away any of their top-5 prospects and still have their first-round picks for this year and next. The team currently sits in the top wild-card spot in the Western Conference with a four-point cushion on the San Jose Sharks, who are outside the playoff picture with two games in hand. <\/p>\n<p>Market Heats Up<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">After a quiet start to deadline week, Wednesday brought a flurry of moves after a potential blockbuster was taken off the table.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The day began with TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger that after going deep down the road on talks for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/robert-thomas-270853\/8480023\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/robert-thomas-270853\/8480023\" target=\"_blank\">Robert Thomas<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/buffalo-sabres\/7\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/buffalo-sabres\/7\" target=\"_blank\">Buffalo Sabres<\/a> decided they could not meet the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/st-louis-blues\/19\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/st-louis-blues\/19\" target=\"_blank\">St. Louis Blues<\/a>\u2019 asking price on the centre. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The Sabres and Blues shifted talks, though, and have reached a deal to send defenceman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/colton-parayko\/8476892\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/colton-parayko\/8476892\" target=\"_blank\">Colton Parayko<\/a> to the Sabres, with the deal now awaiting Parayko waiving his no-trade clause to complete it. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Dreger reports that prospect <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/radim-mrtka\/8485404\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/radim-mrtka\/8485404\" target=\"_blank\">Radim Mrtka<\/a> and a first-round pick will be part of the return for the Blues.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Mrkta was selected ninth overall by the Sabres back in June\u2019s 2025 NHL Draft. The 18-year-old defenceman has one goal and 29 points in 35 games with the Seattle Thunderbirds this season. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/tyler-myers\/8474574\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/tyler-myers\/8474574\" target=\"_blank\">Tyler Myers<\/a> trade saga also came to an end Wednesday, with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/vancouver-canucks\/23\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/vancouver-canucks\/23\" target=\"_blank\">Vancouver Canucks<\/a> dealing the defenceman to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/dallas-stars\/25\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/dallas-stars\/25\" target=\"_blank\">Dallas Stars<\/a> for two draft picks after previously sitting him from their lineup with a trade offer from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/detroit-red-wings\/17\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/detroit-red-wings\/17\" target=\"_blank\">Detroit Red Wings<\/a> on the table. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The biggest trade of the day in terms of assets came as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/calgary-flames\/20\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/calgary-flames\/20\" target=\"_blank\">Calgary Flames<\/a> sent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/mackenzie-weegar\/8477346\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/mackenzie-weegar\/8477346\" target=\"_blank\">MacKenzie Weegar<\/a> to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/utah-mammoth\/68\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/utah-mammoth\/68\" target=\"_blank\">Utah Mammoth<\/a> for a total of five pieces back. Olli Maatta, Jonathan Castagna and three second-round picks went back to Calgary in the deal, as well as future considerations. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/edmonton-oilers\/22\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/edmonton-oilers\/22\" target=\"_blank\">Edmonton Oilers<\/a> made the final trade of Wednesday, finally moving Andrew Maniapane to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/chicago-blackhawks\/16\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/chicago-blackhawks\/16\" target=\"_blank\">Chicago Blackhawks<\/a> and throwing in a conditional 2027 first-round to acquire <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/jason-dickinson\/8477450\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/jason-dickinson\/8477450\" target=\"_blank\">Jason Dickinson<\/a> &#8211; at a 50 per cent retained salary &#8211; and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/colton-dach\/8482703\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/colton-dach\/8482703\" target=\"_blank\">Colton Dach<\/a> back. <\/p>\n<p>More moves coming<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">With just one day left before the deadline, a flurry of activity is expected over the next 36 hours, with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/toronto-maple-leafs\/10\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/toronto-maple-leafs\/10\" target=\"_blank\">Toronto Maple Leafs<\/a> among the teams to show their hands Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The Maple Leafs sat forwards <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/bobby-mcmann\/8482259\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/bobby-mcmann\/8482259\" target=\"_blank\">Bobby McMann<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/scott-laughton\/8476872\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/scott-laughton\/8476872\" target=\"_blank\">Scott Laughton<\/a> and defenceman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/oliver-ekman-larsson\/8475171\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/oliver-ekman-larsson\/8475171\" target=\"_blank\">Oliver Ekman-Larsson<\/a> in Wednesday\u2019s shootout loss to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/new-jersey-devils\/1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/new-jersey-devils\/1\" target=\"_blank\">New Jersey Devils<\/a> for roster management.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">McMann and Laughton are both pending unrestricted free agents, but Ekman-Larsson is under contract through 2027-28 at a cap hit of $3.5 million. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The OverDrive crew weighed in on what could be next for the Maple Leafs as a clear turn to sellers begins.<\/p>\n<p>Are Leafs on verge of making deals?
