Tomas Hertl scored a 4-on-3 power-play goal 2:11 into overtime as the visiting Vegas Golden Knights rallied from a two-goal third-period deficit to defeat the Detroit Red Wings 4-3 on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Hertl took a pass from Mitch Marner at the bottom of the right circle and then buried a spinning wrist shot past goaltender Cam Talbot\u2019s blocker side and inside the far left post for the game-winner.<\/p>\n

The score came 19 seconds after defenseman Simon Edvinsson was sent to the box for slashing Noah Hanifin in front of the crease.<\/p>\n

Marner finished with a goal and two assists, Hertl had a goal and an assist and Reilly Smith and Ivan Barbashev also scored for Vegas, which snapped a three-game losing streak. Rasmus Andersson logged two assists.<\/p>\n

Adin Hill made 23 saves for the Golden Knights, who played without captain Mark Stone (upper body) for the second straight game.<\/p>\n

Alex DeBrincat and Edvinsson each had a goal and an assist and Emmitt Finnie also scored a goal for Detroit. Talbot finished with 21 saves.<\/p>\n

Barbashev cut the Golden Knights\u2019 gap to 3-2 midway through the third period when he tapped in a rebound of a Andersson tip try on a Hanifin point shot.<\/p>\n

Marner, stationed in front of the crease, then tied it with 3:24 left in regulation when he drilled Hertl\u2019s pass over Talbot\u2019s right pad, setting the stage for overtime.<\/p>\n

Vegas took a 1-0 lead at the 1:50 mark of the first period. Marner passed from behind the net to Smith at the bottom of the left circle, where he fired a wrist shot past Talbot\u2019s blocker side.<\/p>\n

Detroit tied it on Finnie\u2019s wrist shot from the right circle past a Marco Kasper screen that beat Hill on the glove side at 5:58 of the first.<\/p>\n

The Red Wings scored twice in a 59-second span near the end of the opening period to take a 3-1 lead.<\/p>\n

Edvinsson got the first goal when he scooped up a loose puck in the high slot and fired a wrist shot into the upper right corner past Hill\u2019s glove side. DeBrincat followed with his team-leading 32nd goal following a Vegas turnover, snapping a shot from the top of the left circle past Hill\u2019s glove side.<\/p>\n
