The Edmonton Oilers<\/a> appear to be shutting down operations early ahead of the trade deadline. <\/p>\n

After making two separate trades with the Chicago Blackhawks<\/a> to bring in defenceman Connor Murphy<\/a> and forwards Jason Dickinson<\/a> and Colton Dach<\/a>, Oilers general manager Stan Bowman is not expecting to make any more moves.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would imagine we\u2019re done,\u201d Bowman said Thursday, noting he will continue to monitor the market but won\u2019t chance anything beyond minor trades.<\/p>\n

Bowman\u2019s comments would appear to shut down speculation regarding another change at goaltender after already overhauling the position this season. The Oilers opened the season with Stuart Skinner<\/a> and Calvin Pickard<\/a> in net, but shipped Skinner to the Pittsburgh Penguins<\/a> in a deal for Tristan Jarry<\/a> and sent Pickard to the AHL after the emergence of free-agent addition Connor Ingram<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Both Jarry and Ingram have struggled though, leading to rumours the team could pursue an option with a proven track record such as Jordan Binnington<\/a> or Sergei Bobrovsky<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Jarry has posted a 6-4-1 record with a .864 save percentage and a 3.85 goals-against average in 12 games since joining the team. Ingram has\u00a0an8-6-1 record with a .890 save percentage and a 2.83 GAA.<\/p>\n

Dealt to the Penguins in January, Skinner remains the Oilers\u2019 leader in wins this season, having posted an 11-8-3 record with a .891 save percentage before the trade.<\/p>\n

The Oilers sent a 2028 second-round pick to the Blackhawks for Murphy at a 50 per cent retained salary on Tuesday. The team then sent Andrew Mangiapane<\/a> and a conditional 2027 first-round pick to the Blackhawks for Dickinson and Dach. Chicago has also retained 50 per cent of Dickinson\u2019s expiring cap hit. <\/p>\n

Per PuckPedia, the Oilers have less than $500,000 remaining in cap space after the two trades. <\/p>\n

After reaching the Stanley Cup Final in each of the past two seasons, the Oilers are fighting for a playoff spot this year, sitting third in the Pacific Division, four points ahead of the San Jose Sharks<\/a>, who are outside the playoff picture with three games in hand on Edmonton. <\/p>\n
