The 27-year-old native of Lakeville, Minnesota is having a career season. At least, he is on pace for one. He has only played three NHL seasons with more games than 2025-26, where he is currently at 54 games played. Still, his point total of 24 is not far off his career best of 31 from last year. He plays 14:35 a night, that is likewise not far off his career best, and second best overall.

Talking About Poehling’s Fit in Anaheim

He really seems to fit in on a strong Anaheim team this year. The increase in production coincides with an increase in specialty team deployment. Still, not a big power play contributor, he could reach a career high in most minutes spent on a penalty kill this season. Furthermore, he is a bit of a filler in their offensive alignment. His most regular duo of linemates includes Nikita Nesterenko and Alex Killorn. According to MoneyPuck, in nearly 73 minutes of ice time together, they have an expected goal percentage of 52.8%. Moreover, many of the Duck lines are successful in that statistic. Of line trios that have played a minimum of 70 minutes, that percentage, that is a nice number, is only the Ducks fifth-best line.

It is no wonder they are currently second in the NHL’s Pacific Division standings. It seems Poehling is full entrenched in the Ducks’ plans, and the fact they have emerged as a strong team in the division already, this team has a few promising years in the near future.

Main Photo Credit: Griffin Hooper-Imagn Images

The Anaheim Ducks are making a non-trade related move on the eve of the 2025-26 NHL Trade Deadline.…

[5123
23057,2210,233,5292,1739,5,4,13110
0":"post-488068","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-anaheim-ducks","8":"tag-2026-nhl-trade-deadline","9":"tag-anaheim","10":"tag-anaheim-ducks","11":"tag-anaheimducks","12":"tag-ducks","13":"tag-hockey","14":"tag-nhl","15":"tag-ryan-poehling
["GET
