This in, news that the Colorado Avs have acquired rugged second line centre Nazem Kadri from the Calgary Flames<\/a> at the trade deadline, sending a shockwave through Edmonton Oilers<\/a> country.<\/p>\n

Edmonton\u2019s road to the Stanley Cup is already iffy, given how shaky the team has been on defence, but Colorado stocking up on useful players such as Kadri at the deadline doesn\u2019t help.<\/p>\n

Kadri has 41 points in 61 games this year for the Flames.<\/p>\n

Jury is out, but I don\u2019t think Stan did too bad here. They filled some desperate needs, rejuvenated a struggling PK with not only new faces, but new knowledge as well, and shored up 3c with a guy that\u2019s a bastard to play against. Is it perfect? No. Did they completely pillage the cupboards chasing the marginal? Also no. The Oilers have a ton of cap this summer, things are still looking up.<\/p>\n

Well, this changes things in the West. Colorado surely felt their grip on the league slipping away. This puts them right there. It doesn\u2019t guarantee anything, but they\u2019ve certainly loaded up\u2026 If one or both of Ingram & Jarry find their level, I like this Oilers roster. Hopefully, the addition of Murphy helps Nurse settle down and play a quieter but louder game. Be it as his partner or watching from the bench, Darnell needs to find the bite he once played with.<\/p>\n
