The Nashville Predators continue their fire sale as the team has now dealt pesky forward Michael Bunting to the Dallas Stars. Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman was the first to report the deal.<\/p>\n

Bunting, 30, is in the final season of his current contract, earning $4.5 million AAV, and doesn’t hold any trade protection. He’ll join a Stars team looking to compete for a Stanley Cup this season, and bring some versatility from the wing, as he can play either side, and up and down the lineup in many different roles.<\/p>\n

With the Predators this season, Bunting dressed in 61 games, scoring 13 goals and 18 assists, for 31 points, while averaging 14:47 of ice-time per game, including playing on the Preds’ second power-play unit. He’ll likely see the same kind of work load with the Stars.<\/p>\n

Dallas entered Thursday with a 38-14-9 record, sitting second in the Pacific Division, and entered the day with over $6.4 million in cap space. It doesn’t appear for now, that any money was retained by Nashville in this trade.<\/p>\n

With Bunting and Myers in the fold, not counting on #TexasHockey<\/a> to be a big player over the next 20 hours or so. <\/p>\n

Dallas seems to be happy with where they stand now – and hard to argue with a team that\u2019s won 10 in a row. \ud83d\udd25<\/p>\n

Keep an eye on the Predators, they are getting calls on Jonathan Marchessault, Steven Stamkos and Ryan O’Reilly, and while they’ve managed to sell off some of their depth options, there could be a blockbuster or two coming out of Nashville before Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n

Nashville trades Bunting to Dallas in exchange for a 3rd round pick (Seattle\u2019s pick from Marchment trade ) in 2026.<\/p>\n
