<\/a>The Buffalo Sabres<\/a> continued their late trade deadline activity by acquiring veteran winger Tanner Pearson from the Winnipeg Jets<\/a> in exchange for a 2026 seventh-round pick.\u00a0The move gives Buffalo another experienced forward as the organization adds some more depth and veteran leadership ahead of the stretch run.<\/p>\n

Buffalo previously acquired Sam Carrick from the New York Rangers<\/a> and defensemen Logan Stanley and Luke Schenn from Winnipeg.<\/p>\n

Pearson, 33, brings a nice blend of experience, physical play, and postseason pedigree to a Buffalo team that looks poised to break its 15-year playoff drought.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The 6-foot-1 winger has recorded 7 goals and 13 points in 52 games this season, while adding 64 hits and posting a plus-7 rating, which ranked among the best marks on the Jets roster.<\/p>\n

Originally selected 30th overall by the Los Angeles Kings<\/a> in the 2012 NHL Draft, Pearson has played more than 650 NHL games across stops with the Kings, Vancouver Canucks<\/a>, Vegas Golden Knights<\/a>, Jets, and now the Sabres.\u00a0<\/p>\n

His biggest career accomplishment came in 2013-14, when he helped the Kings capture the Stanley Cup, adding valuable playoff experience to Buffalo\u2019s forward group.<\/p>\n

Pearson signed a one-year, $1 million contract with the Jets last offseason and provided steady two-way play while serving in a depth role, averaging 10:53 a night.<\/p>\n

The trade also continues the recent transaction activity between the Jets and Sabres. Just a day earlier, Winnipeg dealt Logan Stanley and Luke Schenn to Buffalo in exchange for Isak Rosen, Jacob Bryson, and two draft picks.<\/p>\n
