The 35-year-old has 22 goals and 20 assists for 42 points in 59 games so far this season. He has been averaging 18 minutes, 37 seconds of ice time this season. Eberle has a Corsi for of 55.6 and a relative Corsi of 14.5

The Regina, Saskatchewan native has 330 goals and 440 assists for 770 points in 1,119 career games. Edmonton originally drafted him the first round, 22nd overall of the 2008 NHL Draft. Eberle is a two-time NHL All-Star with appearances in 2012 and in 2022.

He’s represented his native Canada at the international level. Eberle won a gold and a silver at the World Junior Championships in 2009 and 2010, respectively. He’s also gotten a gold at the senior level at the 2015 IIHF World Championships.

What It Means

This move keeps one of the original members of the Kraken on the roster. He was taken in the expansion draft by the club and has immediately become a fan favourite.

Eberle became the team’s captain in 2024-25 after Mark Giordano, who was the franchise’s first captain, was traded away. We’ve seen Eberle seamlessly slide into that role of being a leader on the roster.

There were some questions on what Seattle would do on deadline day. However, it looks like Seattle is locking down some of its veteran players. The Kraken are hanging onto the last Wild Card spot in the Western Conference and are hoping to make the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the second time in team history.

Main photo by: Kim Klement Neitzel-Imagn Images

The Seattle Kraken are extending one of their original players.
