{"id":495409,"date":"2026-03-09T22:20:28","date_gmt":"2026-03-09T22:20:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/495409\/"},"modified":"2026-03-09T22:20:28","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T22:20:28","slug":"missing-snowmobiler-found-dead-in-summit-county-avalanche","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/495409\/","title":{"rendered":"Missing snowmobiler found dead in Summit County avalanche"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SUMMIT COUNTY, Colo. \u2014 A missing snowmobiler was found dead in avalanche debris in Summit County Sunday, according to the Colorado Avalanche Information Center.<\/p>\n<p>A Flight for Life helicopter crew found the man after he was reported missing Saturday in the Boss Basin area near Resolution Creek, south of Ptarmigan Pass.<\/p>\n<p>His identity has not been released.<\/p>\n<p>The CAIC said the slide was two feet deep, near treeline on a northeast slope.<\/p>\n<p>Starting-zone angles were 33 to 36 degrees.<\/p>\n<p>CAIC staff will investigate the site and release a full report later.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/avalanche.state.co.us\/?lat=39.4502272989197&amp;lng=-106.5474748693092\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Considerable avalanche danger<\/a> has been reported in the zone where the avalanche occurred.<\/p>\n<p>___<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/abc-action-news-640-x-200-peacock.png\"\/><\/p>\n<p>    One man is on a mission to find a permanent home for a wind phone to honor his mother<\/p>\n<p>Derrick Johnson says he is on a mission.
