Head coach Paul Maurice said Monday that forward Brad Marchand<\/a> will find out this week if he requires surgery for a lingering lower-body injury. <\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s going to be a decision made on what\u2019s the best way to get him to 100 percent full health,\u201d Maurice said. \u201cI think even if there isn\u2019t [surgery], we\u2019re still talking long-term; like, this isn\u2019t going to be a couple of days. We\u2019re into weeks.<\/p>\n \u201c\u2026 He has been dealing with something for a couple of months, [but] we have been able to maintain it.\u201d<\/p>\n Marchand has 27 goals and 54 points in 52 games for the Panthers this season. <\/p>\n He last played on March 6 against the Detroit Red Wings<\/a>, recording one assist in 11:53 of ice time. <\/p>\n Marchand missed 10 of Florida\u2019s 15 games leading up to the Olympics with a lingering injury. <\/p>\n The 37-year-old had one assist in four games at Milano Cortina 2026 to help Canada earn the silver medal. <\/p>\n Seattle Kraken<\/p>\n The Kraken announced that forward Jaden Schwartz<\/a> will be out indefinitely with an upper-body injury. <\/p>\n Schwartz took a skate to the face late in the first period of Saturday\u2019s 7-4 loss to the Ottawa Senators<\/a>. He went down holding his face but was able to get up under his own power. <\/p>\n The 33-year-old has 10 goals and 21 points in 42 games with Seattle this season, his fifth with the team.<\/p>\n The Kraken hold the final wild-card spot in the Western Conference with 67 points, one ahead of the San Jose Sharks<\/a>. <\/p>\n #SeaKraken<\/a> forward Jaden Schwartz is out indefinitely with an upper-body injury.<\/p>\n \u2014 Seattle Kraken PR (@SeattleKrakenPR) March 9, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n Ottawa Senators<\/p>\n Defenceman Dennis Gilbert<\/a> has been recalled from the AHL\u2019s Belleville Senators and will join the team tonight in Vancouver. <\/p>\n It was announced Monday afternoon that defenceman Jake Sanderson<\/a> is week to week after he was injured in Saturday\u2019s 7-4 win over the Seattle Kraken<\/a>. <\/p>\n The 23-year-old took a big hit into the boards from Kraken defenceman Brandon Montour<\/a> in the second period. Sanderson gingerly skated off to the bench after the hit holding his right shoulder. He went down the tunnel and was later ruled out for the remainder of the game. <\/p>\n The Senators are on the last game of a five-game road trip that also included stops in Toronto, Edmonton, Calgary and Seattle. <\/p>\n Gilbert, 29, has 12 assists in 31 games with Belleville this season and skated in one game with Ottawa. <\/p>\n This is the Buffalo, New York\u2019s native second stint with the Senators organization.
