BOSTON \u2013 It took some time for the scoring to start, but the Boston Bruins<\/a> (36-22-6) picked up a 2-1 overtime win against the Los Angeles Kings (26-23-15) on Tuesday night at the TD Garden.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Bruins\u2019 home winning streak is now at 13.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Mason Lohrei<\/a> (7) scored in the third period, but Charlie McAvoy<\/a> (7) stole the spotlight. After leaving the game in the second period, he returned for the third and scored the overtime winner.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Jeremy Swayman<\/a> made 14 saves in his 25th win of the season, tying a career high.<\/p>\n

Neither team scored in the first two periods.\u00a0<\/p>\n

However, Fraser Minten<\/a> came close twice. He hit the post in the final two minutes of the first period and again in the second.\u00a0<\/p>\n

After the first period, the shots were 5-3 in favor of the Kings.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Kings only took two shots in the second period. The Bruins got nine off, and held a 12-8 advantage through 40 minutes.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In the second period, Nikita Zadorov<\/a> (6-foot-7) dropped the gloves for a fight with Samuel Helenius<\/a> (6-foot-6).\u00a0<\/p>\n

After the fight, Charlie McAvoy went down the tunnel after taking another puck up high.\u00a0<\/p>\n

At the 8:22 mark of the third period, Mason Lohrei opened the scoring. He received a feed from Hampus Lindholm<\/a> and snapped the puck<\/a> into the top-right corner.<\/p>\n

The goal marked Lohrei\u2019s seventh of the season and first since January 17 in Chicago.\u00a0<\/p>\n

However, with six minutes remaining, Drew Doughty<\/a> tied the game. His slap shot redirected off Elias Lindholm\u2019s skate and into the net.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Much like the last seven times the Kings have been in Boston, this game needed overtime.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It took just 39 seconds for Charlie McAvoy\u2019s game-winning goal. Mark Kastelic<\/a> played a long outlet pass to David Pastrnak<\/a>, who found McAvoy in stride. McAvoy pulled it to his backhand and beat Kuemper.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Bruins will look to defend their home win streak when they play the San Jose Sharks<\/a> (30-26-6) on Thursday night.\u00a0<\/p>\n
