Edmonton Oilers<\/a> goaltender Connor Ingram<\/a> exited Tuesday night\u2019s game against the Colorado Avalanche<\/a> late in the second period after a collision in the crease with forward Nathan MacKinnon<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Ingram remained down on the ice and was attended to by the team\u2019s training staff before heading straight to the dressing room, he did not return to the game.<\/p>\n

The 28-year-old surrendered two goals on 17 shots before he was forced out of the contest.<\/p>\n

MacKinnon was assessed a five-minute major and a game misconduct for goaltender interference on the play, which stood after an official review.<\/p>\n

Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar was not pleased with the referees\u2019 decision.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is no chance that he hits the goalie if Nurse doesn\u2019t run into him, he\u2019s not hitting the goalie,\u201d Bednar told the media after the game. \u201cI don\u2019t care if he\u2019s injured, not injured, it\u2019s a severe crash, not a severe crash, it\u2019s not a penalty. If you put guys into your own goalie, it\u2019s not a penalty. That\u2019s the way I see it.\u201d<\/p>\n

MacKinnon, who leads the league with 43 goals, did not register a point in 14:17 of ice time before he was ejected from the game.<\/p>\n

Bednar was also unhappy with the explanation he was given surrounding the five minute major to his superstar forward.<\/p>\n

\u201cNot a good one,\u201d Bednar said. \u201cThe goalie\u2019s hurt, so it\u2019s five? Again, I really don\u2019t give a crap if the goalie\u2019s hurt, that\u2019s on their D-man, not on our guy.\u201d<\/p>\n
