Powell, 21, will report to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms for the remainder of the season. <\/p>\n<p>His ELC will not kick in until the 2026-27 season.  <\/p>\n<p>Powell played his final season of NCAA hockey with the Arizona State Sun Devils, playing under Greg Powers. This season, the 6\u20192\u2033 right wing tallies 7 goals and 5 assists for 12 total points in 34 games played. This was his sophomore season in college. <\/p>\n<p>Last year, Powell attended Ohio State University, where he scored 2 goals and 3 assists for 5 total points in 17 games. He left the NCAA mid-season and joined the Oshawa Generals for the rest of the year. In the OHL, the Flyers prospect scored 9 goals, 13 assists for 22 total points in 28 games. <\/p>\n<p>He also added 4 goals and 10 assists in 21 OHL playoff games for Oshawa. <\/p>\n<p>Powell is a player who, when you watch him, shows flashes of greatness. His two best traits are his shot and his net-front abilities, both when driving to the net and when screening the goalie. There is potential for him to be a solid two-way player. However, there is a consistency issue \u2013 he\u2019s not always able to put the pieces together.
