Montreal Canadiens<\/a> forward Cole Caufield<\/a> is not on the ice for warmups and will miss Wednesday\u2019s game against the Ottawa Senators<\/a>, according to TSN\u2019s Claire Hanna.<\/p>\n

The 25-year-old was listed as a game-time decision for the contest due to an illness.<\/p>\n

Alexandre Texier<\/a> will take Caufield\u2019s spot on the top line beside Nick Suzuki<\/a> and Juraj Slafkovsky.<\/p>\n

Other lineup changes include Jayden Struble<\/a> entering for Arber Xhekaj<\/a>, while rookie goaltender Jacob Fowler<\/a> gets the start in net.<\/p>\n

Caufield missed most of the second half of last night\u2019s game against the Toronto Maple Leafs<\/a>. He did not take his regular shifts at even strength beginning midway through the second period and only played a pair of power play shifts in the third. He remained on the bench throughout the game, but left very late while the Canadiens were defending a 2-1 lead. <\/p>\n

Caufield has 37 goals and 64 points in 63 games this season. He is one goal away from setting a new career high after scoring 37 last season. <\/p>\n
