The Flyers signed one of their college wingers Wednesday, inking Noah Powell to his three-year entry-level contract.<\/p>\n

The deal starts next season, but Powell will report to AHL affiliate Lehigh Valley for the rest of this season.<\/p>\n

As a sophomore at Arizona State, the 6-foot-2, 215-pounder had seven goals, five assists, 54 shots and a minus-7 rating in 34 games.<\/p>\n

Last season, Powell started his college career at Ohio State before leaving in January to play for the OHL’s Oshawa Generals.<\/p>\n

The 21-year-old didn’t produce a ton of offense in two years at the college level. However, he has the strength and physicality to potentially develop as a pro prospect with some bottom-six upside.<\/p>\n

Powell stood out at development camp last summer.<\/p>\n

“Playing a power forward role,” he said in July about his game. “A nitty-gritty guy, drive to the net, big hits, scoring dirty goals, some nice shots and just kind of being a pest to play against, kind of get into the mix.”<\/p>\n

The Flyers selected Powell in the fifth round of the 2024 draft<\/a>.
