The Dallas Stars<\/a>\u2019 hot streak has reached thermonuclear levels.<\/p>\n

Dallas has points in 14 consecutive games <\/a>and will look to keep it rolling on Saturday against the Detroit Red Wings.<\/p>\n

Only one team in franchise history has ever hit the 14-game mark for points \u2014 the 1999 Stars, who ended up winning the Stanley Cup. Safe to say this year\u2019s team is in good company.<\/p>\n

The Stars are 13-0-1 amid their points streak, their only loss coming on March 6 in overtime against the Avalanche. Thanks in part to the Olympic break, it\u2019s been nearly two months since the Stars last lost a game in regulation \u2014 Jan. 22 against the Columbus Blue Jackets.<\/p>\n

Since that game, the Stars have two of the NHL\u2019s top 10 point scorers in Matt Duchene (21 points in 14 games) tied for eighth and Jason Robertson in 10th (20 in 14 games). Wyatt Johnston is tied for the NHL lead in power-play goals since Jan. 23 (six), while Robertson is tied for second in power-play points (10) over that span. Goalie Jake Oettinger is 9-0-1 and tied for the NHL lead in wins since Jan. 23.<\/p>\n

Fighting for a playoff spot<\/p>\n

The Stars face the Red Wings for the second and final time on Saturday. The Stars fell short in their first outing against the Red Wings this season on Dec. 23 in Detroit (4-3 OTL)<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Red Wings are currently fourth in the Atlantic Division with 79 points and fighting for what would be their first playoff appearance in 10 seasons.<\/p>\n

Red Wings forward Alex DeBrincat enters Saturday having recorded eight points (3 goals, 5 assists) in his last seven games played. In all, DeBrincat has registered 65 points (33, 32) in 66 games played this season, tying for the team lead in scoring. In his career against Dallas, DeBrincat has notched 24 points (13, 11) in 29 games played, carrying a plus-minus rating of +4 and averaging 19:08 of time on ice per game.<\/p>\n
