The young forward orchestrated the offensive effort with a goal and two assists, helping the Kings claim their third win in five outings while snapping the Rangers’ four-game winning streak.

Kings Seize Control Early

Los Angeles established an early lead late in the first period when veteran defenseman Drew Doughty found the back of the net. Doughty’s fifth goal of the campaign came via a long-range effort from the left wall that navigated through heavy traffic, leaving Rangers goaltender Igor Shesterkin screened and unable to react in time.

The momentum shifted further in favor of the visitors during a rapid-fire sequence in the second frame. Mikey Anderson doubled the lead at the 4:31 mark, followed just 28 seconds later by a power-play strike from Laferriere. AvandaTimes observed that this quick succession of goals effectively silenced the home crowd and put the Rangers in a three-goal deficit before the midway point of the contest.

Goaltending and Special Teams

Darcy Kuemper delivered a solid performance in the Kings’ crease, turning aside 21 of 22 shots. Kuemper appeared to be on track for his third shutout of the season until Vincent Trocheck converted a power-play opportunity early in the third period. Trocheck’s 14th goal of the season provided a brief spark for New York, but Trevor Moore eventually sealed the result for Los Angeles.

Despite the loss, Shesterkin remained busy for the Rangers, finishing the night with 22 saves. AvandaTimes noted that New York struggled to capitalize on their offensive zone time, narrowly avoiding their 10th shutout of the season thanks to Trocheck’s late intervention.

Panarin’s Return to New York

The matchup also served as a homecoming for Artemi Panarin, who returned to New York for the first time since his high-profile trade on February 4. The Rangers dealt the 34-year-old star to Los Angeles in exchange for Liam Greentree and a conditional draft pick, after which Panarin signed a lucrative two-year extension with the Kings.

Los Angeles Kings: Return home to host the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday.New York Rangers: Remain at home to face the New Jersey Devils on Wednesday.

AVANDATIMES.COM – The Los Angeles Kings halted the New York Rangers‘ momentum on Monday night, securing a decisive…

[5126
10969,3039,5,186,1760,240,5303,793,145,5304,5302,35,4
0":"post-507338","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-los-angeles-kings","8":"tag-alex-laferriere","9":"tag-artemi-panarin","10":"tag-hockey","11":"tag-kings","12":"tag-la","13":"tag-la-kings","14":"tag-lakings","15":"tag-los-angeles","16":"tag-los-angeles-kings","17":"tag-losangeles","18":"tag-losangeleskings","19":"tag-new-york-rangers","20":"tag-nhl
["GET
