Barring an unexpected turn of events, the Chicago Blackhawks<\/a> will likely continue to miss the playoffs, making it six consecutive years without postseason hockey in the Windy City.<\/p>\n

With low chances at reaching the playoffs, currently 10 points outside of the postseason, the Blackhawks are getting wins off the rink by adding more young talent to their roster as the regular season winds down.<\/p>\n

Blackhawks general manager Kyle Davidson has shown a willingness in recent seasons to sign first-round selections late in the year and give them immediate opportunities in the NHL<\/a> instead of leaving them in affiliate, lower leagues.<\/p>\n

Some of the latest phenoms to appear in regular-season games for Chicago include Sam Rinzel, Oliver Moore, Ryan Greene and Frank Nazar, all of whom burned the first year of their entry-level contracts late in their debut seasons.<\/p>\n

On Monday morning, the Blackhawks announced<\/a> their latest addition, revealing that Chicago has agreed to terms with forward Sacha Boisvert.<\/p>\n

The Russian center, drafted with the No. 18 overall pick in the 2024 NHL Draft, has signed a three-year, entry-level contract<\/a> that runs through the 2027-28 season and carries a $974,167 salary cap hit.<\/p>\n

The deal begins immediately, and Boisvert will join the Blackhawks\u2019 active roster. The 19-year-old has appeared in 26 games with Boston University during the 2025-26 campaign, recording 17 points with three goals and 14 assists.<\/p>\n

The 6-foot-3, 185-pound forward spent his freshman season at the University of North Dakota, where he tallied 32 points in 37 games before entering the transfer portal on his way to BU.<\/p>\n

Across two NCAA seasons split between North Dakota and Boston University, Boisvert totaled 49 points in 63 games. He also racked up 113 points in 118 regular-season USHL games with the Muskegon Lumberjacks before turning pro.<\/p>\n

Chicago returns to action on Tuesday night when it hosts the Minnesota Wild at 7:30 p.m. ET.<\/p>\n
