7-Eleven<\/a> is bringing the excitement of hockey to the gas pump with a new nationwide promotion tied to the performance of the Dallas Stars of the NHL.<\/p>\n \u201cThe\u00a0team is\u00a0starting the year off right, racking up\u00a0four\u00a0wins in\u00a0February\u00a0and giving fans plenty to cheer about,\u201d the convenience retailer said in a statement. \u201cNow, fans can celebrate these victories both on the ice and\u00a0at the pump.\u201d<\/p>\n Fans who text in will receive an initial 11 cents off per gallon, valid for two weeks from the date of enrollment, according to NHL.com<\/a>. By texting STARSWIN\u00a0to 711711, fans also can unlock additional discounts that grow as the\u00a0Dallas Stars\u00a0pile up wins at participating 7-Eleven\u00a0stores nationwide, the retailer said. Each month\u2019s discount matches the\u00a0Dallas Stars\u2019 total wins to date, continuing through April. The March offer is 36 cents off per gallon.\u00a0<\/p>\n This isn\u2019t the first time a convenience-store chain has partnered with a professional sports team.
