Jack Hughes<\/a> can keep pushing all he wants \u2026 but it sounds like that golden goal puck is staying put — permanently.<\/p>\n

Despite the New Jersey Devils star publicly blasting the Hockey Hall of Fame and trying to reclaim the piece of history, the Hall is making one thing clear to TMZ Sports<\/a>: it\u2019s not going anywhere.<\/p>\n

Enter Phil Pritchard — aka the \u201cKeeper of the Cup\u201d and VP of the Hall — who basically shut the door on Hughes\u2019 hopes.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u201cAs with every artifact in the Hockey Hall of Fame (puck, jersey, stick, helmet, artwork, whatever) we look after it, preserve it, conserve and it becomes a permanent part of our collection,\u201d Pritchard said.<\/p>\n

Permanent.<\/p>\n

In other words \u2026 don\u2019t expect that puck to be boxed up and shipped to the Hughes household anytime soon — or ever.<\/p>\n

Pritchard doubled down on the Hall\u2019s stance, emphasizing that their entire mission is about protecting the sport\u2019s history for good.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur mission statement is to preserve, document, and record the game \u2026 we do it with our entire collection, including the gold medal puck.\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

That means the same puck Hughes has been trying to track down — the one that gave Team USA its first Olympic gold since the Miracle on Ice in 1980 — is officially museum property now, locked into hockey history alongside other iconic memorabilia.<\/p>\n

Of course, Hughes made it clear he doesn\u2019t agree \u2026 calling it<\/a> \u201cbulls***\u201d in an interview with ESPN earlier this week and arguing that he and Megan Keller on the women\u2019s side should have their game-winning pucks.<\/p>\n

He even said if he got it back, he wouldn\u2019t keep it for himself \u2026 he\u2019d give it to his dad, Jim Hughes, the family\u2019s self-described super collector.<\/p>\n

But sentiment aside, the Hall isn\u2019t budging.<\/p>\n
