The HHOF is not going to budge. <\/p>\n

When the controversy emerged, Pittsburgh Penguins insider Josh Yohe of the Athletic went over to captain Sidney Crosby and asked him if he ever wanted his puck from his overtime golden goal that clinched the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. <\/p>\n
When asked on Wednesday about his reaction to Hughes\u2019 comments about wanting the puck back, Crosby basically showed how different the two star players are and how far apart their mentalities are.<\/p>\n
\u201cI didn\u2019t even think about it that way, to be honest with you,\u201d Crosby told \/The Athletic\/ on Wednesday. \u201cI was just happy that I scored the goal. I was happy that the puck was going to the Hall of Fame. I didn\u2019t even think about it that way.\u201d<\/p>\n
I\u2019m going to say it. Crosby is pure class and just made Hughes sound like an egocentric idiot. <\/p>\n
Despite Hughes\u2019 heartfelt plea, it seems the Hall\u2019s decision is final. For now, the golden-goal puck remains behind glass in Toronto, a symbol of history owned by the institution.
