The Boston Bruins<\/a> are holding onto a playoff spot, and goalie Jeremy Swayman has been a big reason why.<\/p>\n

Swayman is having a stellar season, and\u00a0he has a save percentage above .900 in 31 of his 45 starts. It\u2019s been a dominant season, and NHL analyst Jesse Granger of The Athletic named<\/a> Swayman the most consistent goalie in the league this season.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Alaska native is as fundamentally sound as any goalie in the NHL,\u201d Granger wrote in an article published on Thursday. \u201cHe has a great understanding of angles and how he fills the net behind him, and forces shooters to execute perfect shots to beat him. \u2026<\/p>\n

\u201cSwayman\u2019s consistency comes from his calmness. Goalies sometimes move themselves out of position by overcommitting to plays, but Swayman has a knack for smothering shots without opening holes in his stance. He also moves with noticeable control when sliding across to make saves on the backside of the play.\u201d<\/p>\n

Granger believes Swayman\u2019s positioning is huge for success, as he rarely gets out of position, which helps him make key saves.<\/p>\n

Swayman is 27-14-4 with a 2.73 GAA and a .907 SV% this season with the Bruins.<\/p>\n

Boston, meanwhile, enters play on Saturday with a record of 38-23-8 and is holding onto the top Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference.<\/p>\n
