VOORHEES, N.J. \u2013 After sweeping the California road trip and taking the day off on Sunday, the Philadelphia Flyers held practice at the Flyers Training Center in Voorhees, New Jersey, on Monday. <\/p>\n
It was an optional practice, with 13 players and an EBUG in attendance. The young forwards were on the ice early, as Matvei Michkov was first on the ice, followed by Nikita Grebenkin and Alex Bump. Carl Grundstrom, Garrett Wilson, and Garnet Hathway were in attendance as well. <\/p>\n
The three defenseman who took the ice on Monday were Nick Seeler, Emil Andrae, and Noah Juulsen. Dan Vladar, who is taking a heavy workload of games, was not at practice. Sam Ersson was on the ice. <\/p>\n
Also on the ice were the three injured Flyers forwards: Sean Couturier, Luke Glendening, and Denver Barkey. Each player wore a regular contact jersey, though there was little to no contact during practice. <\/p>\n
Glendening and Barkey skated and came off the ice with the bulk of the group. Couturier stayed on for an extended period with a few other guys, including Nikita Grebenkin. <\/p>\n
Not much of note occurred at practice. For the most part, it was just an opportunity for some players to get some shots on a goalie and skate. Toward the end, they ran some 2-on-1 rushes from the blueline, and that\u2019s it. <\/p>\n
For an optional practice, it was a pretty long one. However, without a key core of players like Trevor Zegras, Travis Konecny, Christian Dvorak, and more, it looks like it could be a full morning skate ahead of their showdown vs. the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday. <\/p>\n
Flyers injury update on Couturier, Barkey, & Glendening<\/p>\n
At Monday\u2019s practice, Flyers head coach Rick Tocchet provided an update on the three injured forwards. <\/p>\n
Per Tocchet, all three of the forwards are day-to-day. \u201cThere is a possibility with Couturier, with Luke [Glendening], and Barkey actually. There\u2019s a possibility that they play [Tuesday], but I can\u2019t say 100%.\u201d <\/p>\n
It seems like all three players are close. Even if it\u2019s not in time for the game vs. Columbus on Tuesday, getting three starting forwards back in the lineup will be crucial for the Flyers as they continue on this tough stretch in the playoff hunt. <\/p>\n
