Colorado Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog will return to the lineup for Sunday afternoon\u2019s game against \u200bthe Capitals in Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n
The \u200cforward has been sidelined since sustaining a lower-body injury during Colorado\u2019s 5-4 shootout victory over the Dallas Stars on March 6.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s \u200cgood \u200bto have him \u2060back,\u201d Avalanche coach Jared \u2060Bednar said Sunday before puck drop. \u201cWe\u2019ve got a lot of these top-six wingers out of the lineup \u200bright now. We\u2019ve brought them all with us on the road. \u2060They\u2019re all making progress. \u2060Landeskog will go (this afternoon) \u200band then hopefully we can continue to \u200badd guys here on this road \u200ctrip. But he\u2019ll make a significant difference for us here (today), and it\u2019s good to see him back \u2060healthy and still with some runway to go here before the playoffs.\u201d<\/p>\n
Landeskog, 33, has 29 \u2060points (nine \u200cgoals, 20 assists) in \u206047 games this season.<\/p>\n
A 2022 \u200bStanley \u200cCup winner with Colorado, Landeskog \u200bmissed three \u2060full regular seasons from 2022-25 because of issues with his right knee and multiple surgeries that included a cartilage transplant on May 10, 2023.<\/p>\n
