The Kings have been a staple in the Pacific Division playoffs for years, but with the upward trajectory of teams like the Minnesota Wild and the Utah Mammoth, it’s a bit harder road. The Kings are in must-win territory right now, currently sitting three points back from the Nashville Predators, and they cannot afford to give up points in a game against the last-place Vancouver Canucks.

Vancouver Canucks News and Notes:

The Vancouver Canucks close up an eight-game home stand with tonight’s game versus the Los Angeles Kings. A home stand that saw a couple of wins against the Florida Panthers and the Nashville Predators, and it helped them develop a lot of team chemistry coming out of a trade deadline where the Canucks made a lot of moves. One of those moves was claiming Curtis Douglas off waivers from the Tampa Bay Lightning, and he rejoins the lineup today to take on the Kings.

Los Angeles Kings Projected Lines:

Panarin-Kopitar-Kempe
Moore-Byfield-Laferriere
Joseph-Laughton-Wright
Malott-Helenius-Armia

Anderson-Doughty
Edmundson-Clarke
Dumoulin-Ceci

Kuemper
Forsberg

Vancouver Canucks Projected Lines:

O’Connor-E. Quinton Byfield did the best he could, potting the lone two goals against Calgary, but it wasn’t enough. That makes two straight multi-point games for Byfield and seven points in the last five games. Alex Laferriere is also a threat to produce on the offensive side as well, grabbing six points in the last five games.

Vancouver Canucks:

Elias Pettersson did all he could, putting up two assists in his last game, it wasn’t enough as the Canucks fell 3-5 against the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday. Pettersson looks to continue this hot streak, putting up five points in his last four games. Filip Hronek was also able to dish out two assists in Wednesday’s game, grabbing three points in the last two games.

Injury Report:

Los Angeles Kings:

LW Kevin Fiala – IR
LW Andrei Kuzmenko – IR

Vancouver Canucks:

C Filip Chytil – IR
D Derek Forbort – LTIR
G Thatcher Demko – LTIR

Next Game:

Los Angeles Kings: Saturday, March 28 vs. Utah Mammoth – 9 pm ET
Vancouver Canucks: Saturday, March 28 at Calgary Flames – 10 pm ET

Discover more from Inside The Rink

Subscribe to get the latest posts sent to your email.

Los Angeles Kings (28-25-18, 74 pts) at Vancouver Canucks (21-41-8, 50 pts)Venue: Rogers ArenaDate: Monday, March 26thTime: 10:00…

[5126
10969,233,26,12257,2318,4238,57,5,186,1760,240,5303,793,145,5304,5302,38,231,4,1295,92,3154
0":"post-524646","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-los-angeles-kings","8":"tag-alex-laferriere","9":"tag-anaheim-ducks","10":"tag-calgary-flames","11":"tag-curtis-douglas","12":"tag-elias-pettersson","13":"tag-filip-hronek","14":"tag-florida-panthers","15":"tag-hockey","16":"tag-kings","17":"tag-la","18":"tag-la-kings","19":"tag-lakings","20":"tag-los-angeles","21":"tag-los-angeles-kings","22":"tag-losangeles","23":"tag-losangeleskings","24":"tag-minnesota-wild","25":"tag-nashville-predators","26":"tag-nhl","27":"tag-quinton-byfield","28":"tag-tampa-bay-lightning","29":"tag-utah-mammoth
["GET
