Pittsburgh Penguins<\/a> captain Sidney Crosby<\/a> left Thursday\u2019s game against the Ottawa Senators<\/a> with an apparent injury and didn\u2019t return.<\/p>\n

Forward Sidney Crosby will not return to tonight\u2019s game versus Ottawa.<\/p>\n

Crosby, 38, skated 6:39 in the game and exited late in the first period after getting his left leg tangled up with one of the Senators players along the boards, according to Taylor Haase of DK Pittsburgh Sports.<\/p>\n

The 5-foot-11 centre attempted to return in the second period where his last shift lasted 38 seconds before leaving the ice again.<\/p>\n

Pittsburgh ended up defeating the Senators 4-3 in a shootout with rookie Ben Kindel<\/a> scoring the winner.<\/p>\n

Crosby missed 11 games coming out of the Olympic break in late February after sustaining a knee injury while playing for Canada in the quarter-finals of Milano Cortina 2026 against Czechia. Thursday\u2019s game was his fifth appearance since returning from the injury<\/p>\n

He has 28 goals and 64 points in 60 games with the Penguins this season.<\/p>\n

The Penguins are in second place in the Metropolitan Division with a 36-20-16 record. They are one point ahead the Columbus Blue Jackets<\/a> and the New York Islanders<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Pittsburgh has 10 games remaining in the regular season, including key matchups with the Islanders and Detroit Red Wings<\/a> on Monday and Tuesday.<\/p>\n
