All teams play a single-elimination opening game, with the winners advancing to the regional final. From there, the four regional champions earn their tickets to the Frozen Four in Las Vegas on April 9 and 11.<\/p>\n<p>The regional brackets are as follows:<\/p>\n<p>Worcester \u2014 Michigan State, Wisconsin, Dartmouth, UConn<br \/>Sioux Falls \u2014 North Dakota, Providence, Quinnipiac, Merrimack<br \/>Albany \u2014 Michigan, Minnesota-Duluth, Penn State, Bentley<br \/>Loveland \u2014 Western Michigan, Denver, Cornell, Minnesota State<\/p>\n<p>Both the Worcester and Sioux Falls regionals got underway on Thursday, setting the stage for Saturday\u2019s regional finals. Those brackets featured Canucks prospects <a class=\"text-accent\" href=\"https:\/\/canucksarmy.com\/news\/why-vancouver-canucks-prospect-anthony-romani-best-ncaa-signing\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Anthony Romani<\/a> (Michigan State) and Matthew Lansing (Quinnipiac).Anthony Romani \u2014 Michigan State<\/p>\n<p>Michigan State opened its tournament with a tightly contested matchup against UConn.<\/p>\n<p>After both teams traded goals in the opening period, Philadelphia Flyers prospect Porter Martone restored Michigan State\u2019s lead midway through the second. From there, the Spartans leaned heavily on their goaltender, Trey Augistine \u2014 a Detroit Red Wings prospect \u2014 who turned aside 41 shots in an outstanding performance to secure the 2-1 win.<\/p>\n<p>Skating alongside his usual linemates, Ryker Lee and Eric Nilson, Romani recorded two shots on goal but did not register a point. Romani has 27 points (14 goals, 13 assists) through 36 games in his freshman year.<\/p>\n<p>Wisconsin advanced to the regional final with a convincing 5-1 win over Dartmouth in the later game, setting up a matchup with Michigan State on Saturday at 1:30 PM.<\/p>\n<p>Matthew Lansing \u2014 Quinnipiac<\/p>\n<p>Over in the Sioux Falls Regional, Matthew Lansing and Quinnipiac picked up an impressive 5-2 win over Hockey East regular-season champion Providence.<\/p>\n<p>After a scoreless opening period, Quinnipiac broke the game open with three straight goals in the second. Providence pushed back to make it a one-goal game in the third, but two empty-net goals sealed the result.<\/p>\n<p>Lansing did not record a shot on goal, continuing to play in a depth role in Quinnipiac\u2019s bottom six.
