The Winnipeg Jets are suddenly back in the playoff race with points in 12 of their last 16 games, but they\u2019ll face a tough test tonight against the Colorado Avalanche.<\/p>\n

Mark Scheifele has been the offensive catalyst for Winnipeg during its hot streak, and I\u2019m backing him to throw plenty of pucks on net in my Avalanche vs. Jets predictions and NHL picks<\/a> for Saturday, March 28.<\/p>\n

Mark Scheifele<\/a> has taken his game to another level just when the Winnipeg Jets<\/a> needed him most.<\/p>\n

The Jets center has a team-leading seven goals and 18 points in 14 games this month, but it\u2019s not just his production that\u2019s been up \u2013 he\u2019s also generating tons of shots.<\/p>\n

Scheifele is averaging just over two shots per game this season, but that number is way up to 2.64 in March.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s logged Over 2.5 shots in three straight games and five of his last seven \u2013 including a two-goal, four-shot output against the Colorado Avalanche<\/a> on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Scheifele scored twice against Colorado last time out and is shooting a red hot 21.7% this season. With his recent high-volume approach, he\u2019ll find the back of the net again tonight.<\/p>\n

Despite trailing two games to one in the season series, the Jets have played the Avs well this season. Both of Winnipeg\u2019s losses have been by a single goal, so I\u2019m expecting another close tilt.<\/p>\n
