A Bruins legend was at Warrior yesterday helping out some Bruins on the ice, but his reach goes beyond the on-ice drills.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere in hockey news, there were two NHL games last night, and one of them involved a team pushing for the Eastern Conference playoffs. Two former Bruins, one player and one GM, were in headlines yesterday for their front office roles. Also, a college team that moved up to D-I with the formation of MAAC hockey is calling it quits.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>There are 15 games on the NHL schedule today, including one at the TD Garden.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Happy Saturday, catch up on Bruins and league news in today\u2019s Daily Bean:<\/p>\n<p>Boston Bruins<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/bostonhockeynow.com\/2026-03-28-bruins-game-73-notes-lines-watch-wild\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">GAMEDAY<\/a>: The Boston Bruins (40-24-8) are hosting the Minnesota Wild (41-20-12) this evening for the first of their back-to-backs this weekend. The Wild shelled the Bruins last time, 6-2.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/bostonhockeynow.com\/2026-03-27-patrice-bergeron-works-with-bruins-at-practice\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">BERGERON COACHING<\/a>: The Bruins were lifted at practice yesterday. <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/patrice-bergeron\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Patrice Bergeron<\/a> was out on Warrior ice helping <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/morgan-geekie\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Morgan Geekie<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/fraser-minten\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Fraser Minten<\/a>. The Red Wings are at 86 points, one out of a playoff spot, but have a game in hand over the Islanders, who occupy the final wildcard.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/chicagohockeynow.com\/chicago-blackhawks-arvid-soderblom-tank-loss-new-york-rangers-recap\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Chicago Hockey Now<\/a>: In the other game, <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/arvid-soderblom\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Arvid Soderblom<\/a> was hung out to dry. The New York Rangers picked up a home win, their 10th of the year, and took down the Chicago Blackhawks 6-1 in the process.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sportsnaut.com\/nhl\/montreal-canadiens\/montreal-canadiens-playoff-situation-remaining-games#\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Montreal Hockey Now<\/a>: The Canadiens are two points ahead of the Bruins in the Atlantic Division race, and they currently occupy the third spot in the division. They also have a game in hand. With 11 to go, Marc Dumont looks at the math and the schedule as the Canadiens end their season.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.collegehockeynews.com\/news\/2026\/03\/27_Mercyhurst-Dropping-Mens.php\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">College Hockey News<\/a>: Mercyhurst University in Erie, PA, is dropping its D-I men\u2019s hockey program. They will keep their women\u2019s team as well as their club team, but D-I is gone. Mercyhurst said it was due to the increased financial demands. Just the day before, their men\u2019s hockey team asked for donations on their <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/HurstMHockey\/status\/2036781392735187124?s=20\" rel=\"nofollow\">\ud835\udd4f<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhl.com\/stars\/news\/dallas-stars-promote-rich-peverley-to-assistant-general-manager-player-personnel-032726\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">NHL.com<\/a>: A former Bruin has been working behind the scenes in Dallas for the last 11 years. Yesterday, Rich Peverley was promoted to the Stars\u2019 Assistant GM\/Player Personnel.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/article\/chiarelli-leaves-blues-front-office-a-candidate-for-predators-gm-role\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">TSN<\/a>: Peter Chiarelli, the old Bruins GM, left his spot in the Blues front office to pursue other opportunities.
