Gatcomb\u2019s\u00a0goal came right on cue as\u00a0Head Coach Patrick Roy\u00a0was hoping he and his linemates would get rewarded\u00a0for\u00a0their recent play.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cI feel sorry for them\u00a0because\u00a0they haven\u2019t been rewarded with\u00a0goals,\u00a0and they\u00a0deserve\u00a0some,\u201d Roy said ahead of Saturday\u2019s game. \u00a0<\/p>\n
One\u00a0wasn\u2019t\u00a0enough, so\u00a0Cizikas\u00a0gave his line their second\u00a0of the afternoon\u00a0to make it 5-2.\u00a0The\u00a0Cizikas\u00a0line bookended the\u00a0Islanders\u2019\u00a0tide-turning second period.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0\u201cWe were joking the last couple days, like we’re right there … with couple crazy saves on [MacLean], so\u00a0it’s good to get rewarded,\u201d Gatcomb said. \u201cAt the end of the day,\u00a0we’re\u00a0trying to do anything we\u00a0can to\u00a0contribute. [That] might not always be on the score sheet [or] the prettiest, but\u00a0it’s\u00a0good when games like today [where] we can contribute.\u201d \u00a0<\/p>\n
Schenn made it clear that their efforts, when without hitting the scoresheet, have been noticed by everyone in the\u00a0Islanders\u2019\u00a0locker room. \u00a0<\/p>\n
